”Revelation, Torah, and Cheesecake”
|
Temple Beth David, located at 6100 Hefley Street, Westminster, CA will celebrate Shavuot with a fun interactive program for all ages on Tuesday evening May 18th. Beginning at 7:00 p.m., attendees can choose one of three activities. The first is Biblio-drama where Jacob’s final blessing of his grandchildren will be reenacted. Using drama, we explore the conflict and blessings found in the gap between generations. The second offering will feature Moses receiving the commandments from Mel Brooks’ History of the world Part I. This will be followed by a study of the relevance of our laws for today. Finally, there will be an art project for all ages, as a third option. At 7:45 p.m., the Ten Commandments will be chanted in the sanctuary followed by a unique Oneg in the Temple Social Hall comprising cheesecakes from our cheesecake contest. There will be prizes for best cheesecake.
This event is FREE and open to the community.
