Birds of a Feather is the brainchild of neighbors Melanie Block Gottlieb and Anne Kupillas. Both Long Beach-based artists, Melanie and Anne realized they were each working on a series of bird paintings. Their mutual love of creating art and of our feathered friends brought these two together to become fast friends themselves and to offer you this glimpse into the colorful, fanciful, and inspirational stories of bird portraits.

Anne Kupillas is a Long Beach, California-based artist, working primarily in watercolor. Born in 1968 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Anne’s love of art began as a child growing up on Long Island, New York, in a family of artists and musicians who encouraged her creativity.

Melanie Block Gottleib is a Long Beach-based artist & instructor. She has 50+ years of experience in teaching and creating art. “My passion in life is art. My life has always been a journey by way of avenues that carry me over many vistas.”
