“Here and There: City Surprises” is a duo art show, featuring watercolors by Irina Mirskaya and art photography by her son Dennis Gurfinkel. Join the picturesque journey portraying city treasures from Long Beach to Denver, from Bangkok to Sevilla.

Irina Mirskaya strives to create a sense of enchantment, to portray mood, emotions in her paintings. An atmospheric cityscape, a bird sanctuary in the middle of a town, a fun planter, a garden statue, an old lock on the door… The city wonders as well as its dwellers, real or imaginary, often influence Irina’s art. Her experience includes art directing of a textile studio, teaching art at Otis College, elementary schools, and private workshops, illustrating greeting cards and children’s books, creating art dolls and hand-painted jewelry. irinamirskaya.com

Dennis Gurfinkel enjoys finding beauty in his surroundings, whether it be strolling through cities or on great outdoor adventures. He grew up immersed in art and now likes to capture compelling scenes in his city or on travels. He enjoys photographing street art, sharp lines of skyscrapers, and everyday city scenes. He is also an avid hiker and rock climber, with a love for the great outdoors.
