What is Rosh Hashanah?
Rosh Hashanah (literally “head of the year”) is the celebration of the Jewish New Year. We celebrate by attending synagogue, hearing the shofar, sending/receiving greeting cards, eating round challah, and dipping apples in honey for a sweet new year. We also throw breadcrumbs into water as a way of symbolically casting away sins.
