Resilience and Hope by Avima Yaffe and Jamie Watson

Exhibition: April 1 - May 18, 2026

This powerful dual-artist exhibition brings together portrait photography by Jamie Watson and contemporary glass art by Avima Yaffe to honor Holocaust survivors and the generations shaped by their courage.

About the Artists

Avima Yaffe, a glass artist and daughter of Holocaust survivors, explores fragility and strength through her work. Her pieces reflect a legacy of survival, renewal, and the resilience passed down through generations. This exhibition is dedicated to the memory of her parents and the future of her children and grandchildren.

Jamie Watson, a portrait photographer and clinical social worker, presents intimate black-and-white portraits of Holocaust survivors she has come to know through years of advocacy and relationship. Her work is an act of witnessing—honoring survivors not only for what they endured, but for the lives they continue to live.

The reception features original music by Dannel Shanker, Avima Yaffe’s son and a third-generation Holocaust survivor. His composition reflects themes of remembrance, resilience, and hope, honoring his grandparents’ survival and legacy.
