Honoring Outstanding Women

Since 1996, the Arlene Solomon Visions annual campaign dinner has served as an important element in bringing women together with a shared goal of helping others, both here in Long Beach and around the world. The Arlene Solomon Visions Dinner is always an inspiring and uplifting time to gather with of women in our community who are committed to the shared values of tzedakah (charitable giving) and tikkun olam (repair the earth).

This year, we are pleased to welcome Julie Platt as our keynote speaker. We are also proud to recognize Barbara Shoag as the 2026 Visions Woman of the Year and Anna Salusky as the first-ever Woman of Impact. Join us as we celebrate these remarkable honorees and the lifelong path of Jewish philanthropy.

Speaker & Honorees

  • Keynote Speaker: Julie Platt

    Ms. Platt is the Immediate Past Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Federations of North America and serves on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles. Ms. Platt also serves on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles (JFedLA) and is the immediate past Chair of the Foundation for Jewish Camp.

  • 2026 Woman of Vision: Barbara Shoag

    Barbara Shoag has served as Women’s Division president and has been an active leader on the boards of Federation, the Alpert JCC, and Beach Hillel. She has also served as president of the Temple Israel Foundation and on the Temple Israel Board. Barbara and her husband, Leon, are lifetime donors and steadfast supporters of Jewish Long Beach.

  • 2026 Woman of Impact: Anna Salusky

    Anna Salusky has served on both the Board and Executive Committee of Jewish Long Beach. A true woman of impact, Anna has made a lasting difference through her leadership, volunteerism, and service across the community.

Jewish Long Beach Women’s Philanthropy is inspired and guided by our tradition of tzedakah (righteousness/charity) and tikkun olam (repairing the world). Arlene Solomon Visions is our signature event, bringing together women from the community to celebrate women’s power to care for the vulnerable, to commit to the survival of the Jewish people, to invest in the future of our children, and to rescue those in need no matter where they live or how they worship.

Your Support is Vital

When you donate to Jewish Long Beach, you are changing lives. Your gift will provide support in three critical areas:

 

  • Programs that improve people’s lives Jewishly, with a focus on Early Childhood Education, Youth & Family Engagement, Senior Wellness, and Jewish Life & Culture in a safe and family-friendly environment.

  • Community building, Jewish advocacy, and leadership development, through partnerships with local Jewish and other community agencies to foster collaboration, empower community leaders, inspire the next generation to be proud to be Jewish, build bridges of understanding, and provide community-wide security trainings & initiatives.

  • Philanthropy that provides support for local Jewish organizations and Jewish communal needs locally and nationally, in Israel and around the world including continued infrastructure and strategic partnership support in response to emergency needs in Israel throughout the War with Hamas.

For many years, Arlene Solomon z"l was an integral part of Women's Philanthropy. Arlene saw the importance of having women of all ages around the table and was inspired to endow the Jewish Long Beach Women's Philanthropy Annual campaign event, Visions.
