Valor & Virtue: Jewish American Military History honors over 370 years of Jewish American military service. This legacy of patriotism, courage, and contribution began before the nation’s founding, when Asser Levy petitioned Dutch authorities in 1655 for the right to serve in the New Amsterdam militia. From the colonial era and the American Revolution to the present day, Jewish Americans have served in every major conflict with honor and distinction. Valor & Virtue brings these remarkable stories to life by combining rigorous, extensive historical research with the accessible, visual medium of graphic novels
